Lib Dem Councillor David Gray has written to over six hundred households asking for their views about a review of the speed limit on Bolton Road and Queens Road.

The consultation is taking place because Bradford Council can now review speed limits on A and B roads and make changes. The Highways Department of the Council says that the speed limit on Bolton Road and Queens Road could be reduced to 30 mph.

Bolton & Undercliffe Cllr. David Gray says: "Many people who live on Bolton Road and Queens Road have said that the speed limit should be reduced to make the roads safer. We want to know what other people who use the road think."

Road Safety Charity Brake says that if you hit a pedestrian at 35mph rather than 30mph then the pedestrian is two and a half times more likely to die. They are campaigning for speed limits to be reduced.

"Please make sure you write to me with your views if you live besides these roads or you regularly drive on them" says David. "It's really important that we get a broad range of views before the Council makes these changes."
